FOOD FARMING & CANNABIS LEGALIZATION
PRESERVING LOCAL FOOD PRODUCTION AMID AN EMERGING CANNABIS INDUSTRY
|
With the recent legalization of recreational cannabis in California and an already growing industry for medical marijuana, family farms focused on food crop production will face increasing pressure on the price and accessibility of farmland. With slimmer profit margins, food-based farmers may find it tough to compete against this higher value crop.
Join us on Friday December 9th for a conversation to proactively anticipate local cannabis regulations and to explore creative solutions to protect existing food farmers and perhaps even incentivize mutually beneficial collaboration between food and cannabis farmers that promote the crop diversity needed for a healthy food system and a strong economy. Friday
December 9 11:30 - 1pm Sonoma Land Trust 822 5th St, Santa Rosa, CA This event is free and open to anyone advocating for the viability of family farms and local food production. We encourage those in the cannabis industry to join us.
