SCARECROW CONTEST!At this year's big games, the School Garden Network of Sonoma County is excited to host the Scarecrow Contest! Anyone can participate. Just bring a homemade scarecrow to the Farmer Olympics and submit your entry by 5pm. Based on style and creativity, a panel of judges will award medals to the top three picks at 5:30pm as well as a special prize for this year's the gold medal winner. |
T-POST POUNDING(for experienced practitioners only)
Gather 'round to watch one of the most exciting olympic events of the year, the t-post pounding competition! In this game of brute strength, farmers and ranchers race to drive these ubiquitous fence posts into the ground. As always, this one's sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

FARM HACK
This summer, the Farmers Guild teams up with the Chimera Art Space for a Farm Hack, uniting makers, engineers, artists and tinkerers with local farmers to think up--and then build solutions to on-farm challenges.
All welcome to participate. Final products will be debuted at the Farmer Olympics to a panel of judges.

Try out your culinary chops and enter this epicurean competition. You bring the toppings and, with help from a mobile cob oven by Living Earth Structures, we'll cook up your creation for a panel of hungry judges.
RULES: We provide dough, oil, pepper and salt; all other toppings must be homegrown or purchased at the olympic farmers market. |

THE SOIL ZONE
It all starts with soil! Stop by the Soil Zone for games and activities where you'll learn about and interact with the building blocks of healthy food: soil. Join the Sustainable Agriculture program from Santa Rosa Junior College together with the Sonoma and Gold Ridge Resource Conservation Districts and Natural Resources Conservation Service!
SOIL CONTEST! Farmers and gardeners, bring a sample from your own field, as they'll be giving out bronze, silver and gold medals as well as prizes for the best soil. |
