  The Farmers Guild
Farmers Guild Communications and Social Media Intern

Are you as passionate about social media as you are about supporting local food communities? Want to use your creative skills to help support a new generation of farmers? The Farmers Guild is looking for an intern to help a growing network of Farmers Guilds across California.

About The Farmers Guild

The Farmers Guild works to establish an integrated network of social and professional hubs across California where farmers connect, collaborate and find the resources they need to thrive within local food webs that stimulate stronger local economies, create social equity and sustain our natural resources.

Each month farmers and their allies come together to share a meal, connect with their community, share resources, and learn more about available resources. We’re also planning several summer parties and events to celebrate our members and the local food community, so the internship will always include good work and a good time.

The Internship

The intern would support our social media efforts by creating and sharing content for and about our community of farmers and their allies. There will also be opportunities for media relations, graphic design and film editing. This is an opportunity to develop your voice as well as the voice of the Farmers Guild! We’re looking for creative folks who can help translate the enthusiasm and spirit of the in person Guild meet-ups into our social media efforts. Qualifications include: experience using social media to promote causes and campaigns, familiarity with facebook, twitter, etc., writing for an online audience. Bonus points given for agricultural experience and skills in photography, video, website maintenance, and graphic design.

We’re seeking a candidate that can dedicate 10-20 hours per week. This is a volunteer position. Most work will be virtual, but the internship will include some travel to Guild meet-ups (transportation can be provided depending on your location). In person meetings can be based out of either San Francisco or Sebastopol area.

To Apply

Please submit a cover letter and resume via email to [email protected] and include “Farmers Guild Internship” in the subject line.

Please be sure to explain why you are applying for an internship and what goals you would like to accomplish as an intern with the Farmers Guild.  Please email materials by in Word or a PDF.
