REGION: FARMERS & RANCHERS
FRIENDS OF FARMERS & LOCAL FOOD ADVOCATES

WHO JOINS THE GUILD?

Picture
Whether you’re growing vegetables for a farmers’ market or managing a thousand acre ranch, joining the Guild means working to make a living in agriculture while also working to build a vibrant, cooperative and diverse local food economy. The Farmers Guild makes it easier to find what you’re looking for: land, tools, work, livestock, partners, or a new market. Strong, local networks help provide connections to buy, sell, borrow or barter for what you need. And we have a good time doing it, too. Come celebrate what you do.

YOU:

  • 1. Attend your local Guild meet-up: actively participate, bring food from your farm, make connections, enjoy yourself.
  • 2. Join your Guild’s online community: contribute to the group by posting questions, suggesting advice, opportunities, etc.
  • 3. Commit to building a vibrant food system, collaborating towards more sustainable local economies, healthy ecology and stronger community alongside fellow farmers.

YOUR GUILD:

  • 1. Offers a monthly gathering of fellow farmers and the wider community all working to support local farms like yours.
  • 2. Provides opportunities such as discounts to conferences and workshops, events, policy updates, and more.
  • 3. Promotes farms like yours on our website and through events, programs and various media outlets.
  • 4. Opens up a broad network of Farmers Guilds around the state to connect with, visit or find new opportunities
  • 5. Endorses integrity: as the reputation and mission of the Guild grows, belonging to the Guild tells local food consumers and businesses that not only are you a farmer committed to continued learning, growth and networking, but that you are engaged in your community, working to simultaneously enrich your business as well as the wider food economy. Be proud.
